Hey guys!
It’s almost August, the dog days of summer. The days that are meant for taking it easy and by taking it easy I mean traveling. Unfortunately, I do not see much traveling in my future. However, you might so I thought I would share some of the things I take with me for those long plane rides. This can translate to car and train rides too, if that’s something you’re into.
1) My travel bag itself
So unfortunately for all of us, Henri Bendel closed. However most of my bags are still Henri Bendel ones. They are tried and true. They’re in a perfect price range: not too high that I’m scared to use it and not too low that it is going to fall apart. They’re such classics and they will be missed so so much. That being said, my travel pouch is of course from Bendels. It can actually fit EVERYTHING. It’s canvas and it is lined on the inside with this plastic coating, making it easy to clean if need be. I found some similar ones for you if you’re interested!
Gucci (in case you’re a big baller)
2) Underwear
You never know when you might need a fresh change of underwear. You may think you won’t need this, until one day you do and you’re so grateful you have this. Any pair will do! I always just keep a fresh pair in my travel bag just in case.
3) CBD Oil
Yes I’m super basic and use CBD oil all the time. But it is amazing you guys! When your neck hurts from trying to sleep in your seat or when you’re getting a little travel anxiety, this is a cure all remedy.I had the travel experience from hell when I was traveling to and from Vegas earlier this summer, and I was using this stuff all over the place. People probably thought I was a lunatic for shoving the dropper down my throat every 30 minutes, but hey it is what it is.
4) Deodorant
Because when you’re in for a long day of traveling, you just need to reapply. If you’ve ever sat next to a smelly person on the plane, you know the importance of this.
5) Boarding Pass
Yes I know we all use mobile boarding passes now. But when you check your bag sometimes they’ll print you one and put your luggage tag on the back. You never know if the airport you’re going to will ask to see the luggage receipt to make sure you’re taking the right luggage, so just keep this in a safe spot guys (aka your new travel bag)!
6) Cash
Because cash is king. And if you don’t use it it will be super fun to find cash in the bottom of your bag in the future.
7) Hair Tie
The plane could be hot or cold you just really don’t know. So keep a hair tie always.
PRO TIP: I actually keep one of these hair ties in every single bag I own. Every going out bag, every tote bag, seriously every single bag. You never know when you may need a hair tie and it is always so helpful when I can just look in my bag and always have one.
8) Advil PM or Melatonin
The safer and less illegal version of Drake’s verse in Sicko Mode. I usually keep a bottle of melatonin or just some floating Advil PM in the bottom of my bag. I also usually have regular Advil in there however I used it all lol. Sleeping on a flight can be hard sometimes so if you need to, just bring some sleeping aids and you’ll be out like a light.
9) Sunglasses
Because I’m notorious for arriving on vacation and saying “OMG I forgot sunglasses”.
10) Lotion
Flying can seriously eff up your skin, so moisturizing can at least begin to help that. I bring CeraVe travel size lotion with me. I have the sample size that I got 1,000,000 of from my dermatologist, however I linked the travel size from Amazon so you can check it out!
11) Charging Case
Flying ruins your phone battery. All that waiting and sitting, you’re bound to download some movies (or YouTube videos) and play a game or two. Bring a portable charger or a charging case. You won’t have to stress about saving your battery so you can call an Uber once you land. This is the one I use.
12) Sleep mask
I used to have a nice satin one, however I left it in Vegas. So typical. So I photographed this old one from Victorias Secret that I no longer use. However, a sleep mask is so gloriously extra and fabulously basic. I love having one. For me, it just let’s my body know it is time to PTFO.
Honorable Mention
I use AirPods, which are currently still packed in my weekender somewhere. However it is a great Idea to bring headphones with the old adapter in the bottom and bring an apple toggle. My dad took my old ones and left them on the plane, so I’m in the market for new ones. But they’re great if you end up wanting to watch something on the TV on the plane and the toggle is good in case your AirPods die!
Tampons. Because when you suddenly need one, you need it badly.
A granola bar in case the food on the airplane sucks or you sleep through the food portion. I usually bring a snack everywhere though so maybe this is just a me problem.
If you’re traveling anywhere soon, go prepared! Yes all of this might sound extra AF to take up space in your carry on, but trust me you’ll be glad you have all of this and glad it’s all in one place. Happy travels!
XOXO
